Mode Lab

Mode Lab is a Game Mode, where different special Game Modes are featured, or tweaks to existing game modes are tested out. It was introduced in Season 2, but in fact first mode was released in mid-season 1 without tag "Mode Lab".

Modes

Factory Run		Season 1	Dao, Bazzi, Marid, and Vivi against 36 computer-controlled Androids in a five-lap Item Mode match on Factory: First Steps where the bottom eight racers are eliminated at the end of each lap.
Infinite Boost Mode†		Season 2	Variant of Speed Mode where the Boost meter builds automatically.
Flag Mode		Season 3	Two teams of four players collect flags and return them to their base. The first team to reach 20 points wins.
Crossover Mode		Season 4	Fusion of Item Mode and Speed Mode. Players can drift for Boosts as well as obtain items from item boxes.
Dao's Jumping Jamboree		2024 May Update	Each racer plays as Dao in a Speed Mode match with Character Skills enabled.
Hit and Run	File:Hit and Run.png	2024 May Update	A squad Item Mode match with set characters: Miso, Neo, Viktor, and Airi on the Red Team vs. Dao, Derek, Lucid, and Spirit Kid on the Blue Team.
Brodi's Big Time Blast		2024 May Update	Each racer plays as Brodi in an Item Mode match with reduced Character Skill cooldowns.
Multi Cube Item Mode	File:Multi Cube Item Mode.png	2024 June Update	A variant of Item Mode containing double item boxes and guaranteed item boxes.
Ghost Battle	File:Ghost Battle.png	Pirate Update	A variant of Speed Mode where players can't collide with each other.
Tug of War	File:Tug of War.png	Pirate Update	A team of four Tieras against a team of four Misos in an Item Mode match with reduced Character Skill cooldowns.
Derek's Extreme Zone	File:Derek's Extreme Zone.png	Pirate Update	Each racer plays as Derek in a Speed Mode match with Character Skills enabled.

† On July 13, 2023, Infinite Boost Mode was promoted to a primary game mode. This was later reverted on November 29, 2023, returning it to the Mode Lab rotation.
