Derek
Derek is a legendary racer with the world record for most wins. He wears his helmet to cover a scar responsible for rumors about his past.
In-game description
Derek is a character in KartRider: Drift.
He raced against one of the Rabbit Hole members during the World Kart Championship in the Season 2 cinematic trailer.
It was later revealed in the stinger for the Season 4 trailer that the driver was a version of Derek affiliated with Rabbit Hole, as well as Rex and Miso also being members. The description for Derek's Rabbit Hole costume explains that he joined up with the group for reasons he'd rather not share.
Summary
Character Skill
Derek's character skill is Extreme Velocity. Derek's initial top speed is reduced, but while driving at least 100km/h for 5/4.7/4.4/4.1/3.8 seconds, his top speed increases, stacking up to three times and indicated by Derek and his kart glowing a bright red that grows more intense per level. If Derek is hit with an item, collides with a wall, slows down to below 50km/h, or carries two items at once, his top speed bonuses are reset.
Emotes
- Victorious: (Standing) Derek laughs and waggles a finger, then produces a gold trophy topped with a star. He thrusts the trophy into the air three times, jumping the third. (Sitting) Derek produces the trophy, thrusting it into the air five times and jumping on the third and fifth.
- Sad: Derek turns away and closes his eyes. He hangs his head, sighs, and taps his leg with his finger. If sitting, he instead taps his steering wheel with his finger.
- Angry: Derek mutters in anger and tenses up, raising his hands and bending them into claws as a flame appears over his head. Then he sighs, leans forward, and shakes his head.
- Surprised: Derek jumps, shifting his helmet off-center as sweat drips down his head. He readjusts his helmet, dusts off his left shoulder with his right hand, then adjusts his left glove.
- Amused: Derek stands with his hands on his hips and laughs. If sitting, he just tilts his head back as he laughs.
- Affectionate: Derek taps his left shoulder with his right hand twice, blows a kiss with his left hand, then blows a second with both hands, causing hearts to appear both times.
- Showboat: Derek pulls out a gold trophy, points to it while nodding, then puts it away and points to the sky.
- Bored: (Standing) Derek crosses his arms for a few moments, then pulls out his gold trophy, inspects it, taps it against his left palm, then polishes it with his left hand. (Sitting) Derek falls asleep, then abruptly wakes up and vigorously shakes his head.
- Applaud: Derek slowly claps while chuckling.
- Dance: Derek dances by walking back and forth while spreading his arms and flexing his fingers.
