Legend Cup

The Legend Cup is a central plot point in the background story of KartRider: Drift.

Details

The Legend Cup is an elusive and highly coveted racing trophy, created from the pure joy and adrenaline of kart racing, and imbues the energy of the racing world and protects it. Many drivers seek to win the trophy in order to achieve the highest honor of becoming a Legendary Kart Racer. However, according to the Starting Line animated web series produced by Line Friends, its power could change the world, and as a result, is sought out by evil-minded individuals.

Rabbit Hole traveled back in time with the intent to corrupt the Legend Cup's energy to spread chaos upon the world.

Starting Line

In Episode 3 of Starting Line, Kris was hired by the Black Company to help them steal the Legend Cup for their own purposes, only for their attempted heist in Boomhill Village to be thwarted by Dao during the events of Episode 1.

It was also revealed in Episode 6 that Lodumani had also attempted to obtain the Legend Cup, seeing it as more valuable than any treasure. Despite his best efforts, every race he competed in always came short of victory, so he resorted to secretly cheating in order to win. Just as he had won the Pro Grand Prix and was about the claim the Legend Cup, his foul play was discovered and he was disqualified for ten years.

Game

In the Preseason trailer for the game, Dao, Bazzi, Diz, Keffy, Neo, Brodi, and Airi were about to start a race with the Legend Cup as the prize, when the Rabbit Hole gang appeared from purple portals and stole it, leading to a chase through various locations to recover the pilfered trophy, with Marid also showing up. Kris and Lodumani also join the chase, seeking to obtain the Legend Cup for their own reasons.

When the Rabbit Hole leader was making a bridge collapse to prevent the other racers from chasing them any further, Kris fired a Missile at the thief, causing them to fumble the Legend Cup. Dao and Kris then each attempted to grab the trophy, only for it to disappear in a flash of blue light, with Rabbit Hole retreating.

At the end of the Season 2 trailer, Tiera reveals that the Legend Cup is located on a pile of trash, somewhere in what is implied (and later confirmed) to be Moonhill City.

The Season 5 trailer reveals that the Black Company had found the Legend Cup in the time since the World Kart Championship. When Rabbit Hole arrives to the city, Viktor sends Raptor L and Raptor R to distract Rex and Derek as he lures Miso to an unfinished skyscraper using the trophy. Though Viktor initially has the upper hand by trapping Miso in a tractor beam and stealing the energy she took from Draky, she manages to activate her Eclipse Alpha's autopilot while he is communicating to the twins via walkie-talkie. Diving out of the way to avoid the Eclipse Alpha, Viktor drops both the trophy and container. Now free, Miso picked both up and corrupted the Legend Cup's energy with the Spark of Life, unleashing a massive shockwave that caused a blackout through the entire city.

In a B-plot for the Northeu Update's trailer, Dao and Bazzi pursue Rabbit Hole throughout the devastated cityscape to try and get the Legend Cup back from them. Dao confronts Miso, who uses the Legend Cup's corrupted power to incapacitate him and Bazzi, before she drops behind the now-powerless trophy on the ground and leaving with her cohorts.

• In March 2024, three 12" gold-plated replicas of the Legend Cup were given away to the Grand Prize winners of the KartRider: Drift 1st Anniversary Giveaway at gleam.io.
